The author returns to his hometown of Lot in Jerusalem to find inspiration for his next book, only to find a bloodthirsty vampire attacking the townspeople. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot was to make vampires scary again. Thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, he wants to get rid of the sexier, more romantic undead that have invaded pop culture for the better part of the last quarter century. When Ben reads old newspapers on microfilm in the library, the headline is “Local couple victims of DUI.” The term “DUI” is said to have been printed in 1956, around the time it was printed.
I liked the look of the vampires
Sources Trog (1970). Sundown was written and performed by Gordon Lightfoot courtesy of Warner Records. Under the deal, Warner Music Group Film & TV licences. I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare it.
Good action scenes
There was definitely a good spooky atmosphere. It was the makings of a good thriller, I think it would have been better as a miniseries. We needed more time to get to know these characters better. More time to develop those relationships.
He is not a character
I think Lewis does a good job acting with what he’s given, but his character needs more development. His backstory doesn’t relate to the story in any way, aside from the vague “only the outsiders win” line. of a type I thought her being a writer (besides the obvious Stephen King role) had a purpose, maybe like she was doing research, but no. The only other thing we know about him is that his parents died when he was young, which serves no purpose.
