Chloe Abrahams’ feature debut, A Taste of Mango, is a gripping, hypnotic, deeply personal meditation on family, memory, identity, violence, and love. It centers on three extraordinary women: director Rozan’s mother; her grandmother Jean; and the director herself. Their stories, by turns complex and joyful, testify to the complex and ever-changing nature of heritage, and how we simultaneously hurt and protect those we love.
