James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis share elements of their characters
Chronology
A family is invited to spend an entire weekend in a lonely house in the countryside, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that the family who invited them has a dark side. They found each other most fascinating and complemented each other as they discussed their different approaches to the craft. The story is inspired by the experiences of Christian Tafdrup, the director of the original Danish film Speak No Evil (2022), who befriended a Dutch couple while on vacation in Tuscany with his wife. Although the Dutch were a bit socially reserved, both couples got along very well, and upon returning home, Tafdrup received an invitation from the Dutch family to come to Holland. He thought about it for a moment, but then decided that it would feel weird hanging out with people he didn’t really know; His story for the film came about as him giving vent to his darkest fantasies about what could have happened if he had agreed (claiming that the original Dutch couple never gave off bad vibes).

Definitely worth a visit to the cinema – we had so much fun watching it! The slow start never gets boring as it carefully points out.
On the contrary, it makes everything even stranger and more unsettling
that something is deeply wrong going on, even if you can’t quite put your finger on what it is yet. You, just like the guests, want to like these characters, even if they seem increasingly unpleasant and you wouldn’t dare be rude. I was surprised by how much humor there is in it, but it doesn’t undermine the tension that builds like fire throughout the film. Without realizing it, you were sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time, just waiting for the inevitable to happen, yet praying it wouldn’t. And then when everything finally unravels, the third act pays off beautifully.

McAvoy is insanely good in this film, and his variety fuels even more emotions that you go through while watching. The film is about him, about his ability to captivate both the characters and the viewer, only to then scare them to death. is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
